Saint Germain via the old road

The ascent to the hermitage of Saint-Germain is done by a path with a sustained slope before joining the old and wide road of Saint-Germain now closed to the automobile traffic. 

At the top, you can admire the small lake, the Bauges massif and the Duingt castle on its peninsula. 

Have you noticed the clear spot in the water in front of the castle? It is the reed, a shoal which allows you to stand in the middle of the lake!
